Hellrunner South 2007
Hellrunner is over multi-terrain and varying underfoot conditions. Starting off on a fresh November morning on a muddy track. The event unfolded and slowly but surely it got muddier and muddier. From steep hill to sand dunes, the testing conditions pushed the body to its limits. Bogs ensured that you were chest deep in merky water. All in all the course was approximately 10 miles long and saw Myles finish in 1 hour and 33 minutes. At least now there is a target for next time.
Victor Ludorum Cycling Sportive
Combined Services Champions 75 mile -
This saw Myles take part in his first cycling event. As a first timer he decided to enter the 75 mile course. At this point his bike had not even been that far in total. It was like cycling into uncharted territories. He had never been so far on a bike before. The course started from the Newbury Showground and passed through the surrounding villages. Long straights, steep climbs and fast descending downhills made this a very enjoyable day. All was going well until he missed a turn which saw a 75 mile event turn into a 82 mile! Not phased by this next season will see his return on two wheels.
24 Hour Open Adventure Race
July 2007 saw the first event taken on by MACventure racing for the British Forces Foundation.
Craig and Myles found themselves taking part in a 24 hour race over undulating terrain which involved cycling, swimming, rock climbing, running, tandem cycling and kayaking.
The event was a true 24 hour spectacle with no sleep in that period and one 20min break throughout the whole event.
The event raised over £400 for the BFF and is only the start of our quest to raise money for the BFF.
In total we managed to raise £335.00, with a further £87.44 from GiftAid. Thank you to everyone who gave so generously!
